Apple Unveils Updated Apple TV 4K with Enhanced Siri Remote

Today, Apple introduced the latest iteration of the Apple TV 4K. This new release is accompanied by a completely redesigned Siri Remote, offering users a more streamlined experience.

Redesigned Siri Remote for Intuitive Control

The updated Siri Remote, crafted from aluminum, builds upon existing Siri functionality. It incorporates a reimagined clickpad, enabling circular gestures along its outer edge. This allows viewers to efficiently navigate and pinpoint specific scenes within content.

To minimize the need for multiple remotes, the new remote also features dedicated buttons for muting audio and controlling the power of your television.

A12 Bionic Chip Powers Enhanced Video Performance

Powering the new Apple TV 4K is Apple’s A12 Bionic chip. Apple states this chip will facilitate support for superior video quality, including high frame rate HDR and Dolby Vision at 60 frames per second.

While optimal picture quality is dependent on the television being used, Apple has introduced a new feature to address this. This feature isn't exclusive to new device purchasers.

Automatic Color Balance Calibration

Any Apple TV owner can now leverage the light sensor within their iPhone to measure their TV’s current color balance. The Apple TV will then automatically adjust its output to achieve improved color accuracy.

Pricing and Availability

The new Apple TV 4K will be available for purchase at a price of $179 for the 32-gigabyte model. A 64-gigabyte option will be offered for $199. Pre-orders begin April 30th, with shipping commencing in the latter half of May.

Additionally, an Apple TV HD with the new Siri Remote will be available for $149. The Siri Remote can also be purchased separately for $59.

He continued, “And of course, Apple TV 4K offers easy access to Apple services, along with thousands of apps on the App Store for even more entertainment options.”
