TechCrunch and VivaTech Collaborate to Recognize Startup Innovation

TechCrunch is partnering with VivaTech, Europe's leading startup and technology event, to identify promising startups for the VivaTech Innovation of the Year award at VivaTech 2025.

This collaboration aims to spotlight exceptional innovation, technological advancement, and the potential for industry disruption demonstrated by startups exhibiting at the event.

The VivaTech Innovation of the Year Award

The VivaTech Innovation of the Year Award recognizes startups participating in VivaTech 2025 who demonstrate remarkable innovation, cutting-edge technology, and the capacity to significantly impact their industry.

TechCrunch will initially select a shortlist of 30 top contenders.

A jury member from TechCrunch will then contribute to the selection of the final five startups.

TechCrunch will also have a presence onstage at VivaTech on June 11th, alongside the full judging panel, during the final award presentation.

Event Hosting and Finalist Benefits

Furthermore, TechCrunch will act as the official host of the VivaTech Global Awards Ceremony on June 12th.

The role will include providing the Master of Ceremony for introductions, transitions between awards, and the event’s conclusion.

The five finalists chosen will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas on the VivaTech stage on June 11th.

They will also gain access to introductions with venture capitalists, exclusive networking opportunities with jury members, and increased visibility through VivaTech’s marketing channels.

Additionally, each finalist will receive two four-day passes to attend VivaTech 2025.

Disrupt Startup Battlefield 200 Eligibility

The ultimate winner of the Innovation of the Year award will earn a coveted spot in the highly competitive Disrupt Startup Battlefield 200.

This includes the possibility of presenting at TechCrunch’s annual flagship event in San Francisco, scheduled for October 2025.

Award Eligibility Requirements

VivaTech Innovation of the Year Award eligibility guidelines:

• Startups must be exhibiting at VivaTech 2025.
• Companies must have been founded in 2020 or later.
• Applicant organizations should have fewer than 50 employees.
• The selection of five Finalists will occur on June 4th.
• Finalists will participate in a Pitch Session at VivaTech on June 11th.
• The VivaTech Global Awards Ceremony will be held on June 12th.
