Substack Launches Audio Livestreaming - New Feature!

Substack Introduces Audio-Only Livestreaming Option
For Substack publishers who prefer not to utilize video during live broadcasts, a new option is now available.
Substack revealed on Tuesday the launch of an audio-only livestreaming feature. This provides publishers with a less demanding method of engaging with their audience.
How to Activate Audio-Only Mode
Publishers can initiate the feature by simply clicking the camera icon to disable video functionality when starting a live stream.
The video component can be reactivated at any point throughout the duration of the broadcast. Listener interaction, including commenting and subscriptions, remains consistent with standard livestreaming events.
Rollout and Previous Access
The deployment of this new capability will commence next week.
This audio-only mode follows Substack’s earlier expansion of livestreaming access to all publishers in January. Previously, this feature was restricted to a select group of creators who had surpassed 100 paid subscribers.
The update offers a valuable alternative for those seeking anonymity or a more relaxed broadcasting experience.
