Spotify AI Playlist Expansion: Now Available in Asia & More

Spotify Extends AI Playlist Functionality to New Global Regions
Spotify revealed on Thursday a significant expansion of its AI Playlist feature, now accessible in over 40 additional territories.
This rollout encompasses nations across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean, broadening the reach of this innovative tool.
How the AI Playlist Feature Works
Currently available in beta on both Android and iOS platforms, the AI-powered feature empowers users to generate customized playlists through simple text-based requests.
For example, a user could request “workout music to make my ex jealous,” and Spotify’s AI will assemble a playlist designed to match that specific emotional tone.
The system accepts diverse prompts, incorporating elements like musical genres, time periods, animals, colors, emojis, and even characters from films.
Initial Launch and Subsequent Expansion
The feature was first introduced in April 2024, initially limited to Premium subscribers in the United Kingdom and Australia.
Approximately five months later, availability was extended to include the United States, Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand.
Current Global Availability
This latest expansion brings the total number of markets offering the AI Playlist tool to almost 50.
Newly supported countries include Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Fiji, Ghana, Jamaica, Kenya, Liberia, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, among a wider selection of others.
Spotify continues to refine and broaden the accessibility of its AI capabilities for music discovery.
