Snapchat Updates: Messages Now Last a Week

Snapchat Announces Holiday Feature Updates
Snapchat has recently unveiled a series of new functionalities for both its general user base and Snapchat+ subscribers, as communicated by the company on Wednesday.
Expanded Chat Capabilities
A key update allows Snapchat users to retain their chat conversations for a period of seven days, a change from the previous 24-hour auto-deletion policy. This extended retention is intended to facilitate holiday planning and list-keeping without the concern of message loss.
Snapchat highlights the utility of this feature for coordinating holiday surprises within group chats, enabling easy reference to previously discussed details.
Exclusive Features for Snapchat+ Subscribers
Snapchat+ subscribers will gain access to new, immersive app themes. These themes allow for customization of the app’s visual appearance through a selection of pre-defined color palettes.
Furthermore, subscribers are being granted early access to a new collection of Bitmoji reactions designed for use within chats.
Updates for All Users
Even users who do not subscribe to Snapchat+ will benefit from the rollout of new holiday-themed Lenses, including a festive “Ugly Sweater” option.
Snapchat+ Subscription Details
Launched in 2022, Snapchat+ provides users with access to exclusive and early-release features for a monthly fee of $3.99.
These exclusive offerings encompass features like Chat Wallpapers, customizable App Icons, and AI-powered Bitmoji Pets.
Snapchat+ User Growth
Snap reported in August that the Snapchat+ subscription service has surpassed 11 million paying users, demonstrating significant adoption of the premium features.
