Snapchat+ AI Stickers: Create Custom Stickers with AI

Snapchat Enhances Snapchat+ with AI Stickers and Self-Destructing Snaps
Snapchat is actively working to expand the benefits of its premium subscription service, Snapchat+, in an effort to gain more paid users. Recent updates include the introduction of AI-generated sticker creation for Snapchat+ members.
AI-Powered Sticker Generation
Subscribers to Snapchat+ in the United States now have the capability to design and share personalized stickers directly within their chats. This is achieved by initiating a message in the chat bar and then selecting the sticker search function.
Within the sticker search, an AI-generated sticker option appears, dynamically creating a sticker based on the entered text.
Competition in AI Sticker Features
Snapchat is not alone in offering AI-driven sticker creation. Both Meta and Apple have previously launched comparable functionalities for their users.
This new feature expands upon an existing Snapchat+ benefit introduced in 2023, which allowed subscribers to generate images from text prompts using artificial intelligence.
Underlying Technology
The rollout of this feature follows Snap’s unveiling of a new AI text-to-image research model designed for mobile devices. This model is intended to enhance the app’s AI Snaps and AI Bitmoji Backgrounds in the coming months.
However, a Snap spokesperson clarified to TechCrunch that the current custom AI sticker feature is not yet powered by this new model. Future integration remains a possibility.
Introducing Snap Modes with Self-Destructing Snaps
In addition to AI stickers, Snapchat+ subscribers are gaining access to “Snap Modes,” a new feature designed to diversify interactions with friends.
Initially, Snap Modes will enable the sending of Snaps that automatically disappear if not viewed within a predetermined timeframe.
Snapchat intends to introduce further Snap Mode options in the future, though specific details have not yet been disclosed.
Snapchat+ Subscriber Growth and Revenue
Snapchat has been strategically developing its subscription service to attract a wider user base. Snapchat+ has proven to be a successful avenue for increasing revenue.
Recent financial reports indicate that Snapchat+ now boasts 14 million subscribers.
Evan Spiegel, CEO of Snap, highlighted that the company’s “other revenue” segment – largely comprised of Snapchat+ subscriptions – experienced a 131% year-over-year increase.
This segment concluded the year with an “annualized revenue run rate exceeding $500 million,” as stated during an investor call.
