Snapchat is rolling out Sponsored AI Lenses, a novel advertising solution designed to provide brands with a more immersive method of connecting with their audience.

For years, Snapchat has enabled brands to utilize sponsored lenses. Now, they can harness the power of AI-driven experiences, leveraging Snap’s unique generative AI technology.

A New Level of Interactivity

These interactive lenses offer a more engaging and enjoyable experience for users compared to conventional advertising formats.

Users can utilize selfies to virtually transport themselves into diverse, AI-created environments.

According to Snap, when a user activates an AI Lens, the platform analyzes their facial features to seamlessly integrate them into the AI-generated scene.

The AI Lens employs a predetermined prompt and pose to deliver captivating transformations, offering up to ten distinct experiences within a single Lens.

“We have spent the last two years perfecting our generative AI technology to ensure rapid and efficient high-quality creative development,” Snap communicated in a recent blog post.

Sponsored AI Lenses remove the necessity for complex 3D and VFX design, substituting them with AI-generated templates that significantly reduce production timelines.

Early Adopters and Positive Results

Several brands have already begun utilizing this new advertising format, including Tinder and Uber.

Tinder’s campaign allowed users to generate a personalized image accompanied by the caption “My 2025 Dating Vibe.”

Uber’s offering provided a similar experience, but with a thematic focus on Thanksgiving.

Snap’s data indicates that users dedicate more time to interacting with Sponsored AI Lenses in comparison to standard Lenses.

Both Uber and Tinder reported higher-than-average engagement durations while employing the new AI creative format.

Snap's Continued AI Integration

This launch represents the latest step in Snap’s exploration of generative AI and its integration into the platform’s core functionalities.

Just last month, the company introduced its inaugural video generative AI Lenses.

In February, Snap revealed an AI text-to-image research model designed for mobile devices, which will underpin several Snapchat features in the near future.
