Christine “Chris” Barman, the CEO of Slate Auto, is steering the company towards its goal of creating affordable, customizable, and desirable vehicles. Before founding Slate, her career included a position as Global Vice President of Strategic Business Development and Solutions in Transportation at HCL Technologies.
She also held the role of Chief Technology Officer for the Industrial Sector at Eaton Corporation.
Prior to these roles, Barman dedicated over two decades to Chrysler, holding key leadership positions in engineering, systems, and product development. Her work there focused on groundbreaking advancements in areas like autonomous driving, electrical systems, and driver-assistance technologies.
A mechanical engineer with a degree from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Michigan, she is dedicated to supporting and encouraging aspiring female engineers.
