Simple PDF Apps: Merge, Convert & Edit PDFs

Essential PDF Applications: Merge, Convert, and Rearrange
Previously, in April, we detailed a collection of useful PDF tools. This prior article featured online converters capable of transforming files 'from XYZ to PDF', alternatives to Adobe Acrobat, and several PDF printers.
This current selection presents three distinct tools, each providing functionalities not previously covered. Their utility warrants a closer examination.
PDF Hammer
PDFHammer is a web-based application designed for merging and rearranging PDF documents online. Its operation is remarkably straightforward, functioning directly within a web browser.
Users simply upload their PDF files and then manipulate the page order as desired. Individual pages can also be deleted with ease. Upon completion, the "Export Final PDF" button initiates the download of the finalized document to the user's computer.
KoolWire
[NO LONGER WORKS] KoolWire offered the simplest online method for converting various documents to PDF format, utilizing only an email program.
To convert a file, it was sent to "˜PDF@koolwire.com', and the converted PDF version would be promptly returned via email.
- Multiple files could be converted simultaneously, without limitations on individual file sizes.
- Supported file types for conversion to PDF included: Word (.DOC), Powerpoint (.PPT), Excel (.XLS), Images (.JPEG,.GIF), Rich Text Format (.RTF), and Text (.TXT).
Free PDF to Word Doc Converter
Free PDF to Word Doc Converter is a free, standalone Windows application capable of converting PDF files into Microsoft Word (DOC) documents.
Beyond text, the program also converts images and shapes, striving to maintain the original document's layout and formatting.
