Shutdown or Restart Windows Home Server - Console Access

Remotely Shutting Down or Restarting Your Windows Home Server
Occasional shutdowns or restarts of your home server may be necessary for various maintenance or troubleshooting purposes. If you are a new user of Windows Home Server (WHS), it's useful to know that these actions can be initiated directly from the Console interface.
This eliminates the need for physical access to the server, such as connecting a monitor and keyboard. Begin by launching the Windows Home Server Console from any computer connected to your network.
Within the Console, navigate to the Settings section. Then, select the Shut Down option to proceed.
Accessing the Shutdown Screen
Upon clicking 'Shut Down', a dedicated screen will appear. The background of the main Console interface will become slightly obscured, focusing your attention on the shutdown controls.
From this screen, you have the ability to either shut down or restart the server, depending on your needs.
Connection Interruption
As the shutdown or restart process begins, a notification will appear, informing you that your connection to the server has been lost.
Re-establishing a connection will be possible once the server has completed its power cycle and is operational again.
Console Capabilities
Windows Home Server is architected to allow comprehensive management through the Home Server Console. This includes essential functions like initiating a shutdown or restart, providing a convenient and centralized control point.
Essentially, the Console provides a complete interface for managing your server without requiring direct hardware interaction.
