Seraphim Capital Announces New Space Tech Accelerator Cohort

Seraphim Capital, the operator of the United Kingdom’s sole space technology accelerator, has announced the details of its latest group of participants in the Space Camp program, coinciding with the conclusion of World Space Week.

4pi Lab
Funding to Date: Amount not disclosed / Received Non-Equity Assistance from Creative Destruction Lab
Description: “4pi Lab is in the process of developing a constellation of satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) designed to provide real-time detection, monitoring, and reporting of wildfires. Their specialized sensor technology allows for the identification of wildfires with a 10-meter resolution on a global scale, aiming to significantly reduce the impact of large-scale wildfire events.”

Clutch Space Systems
Funding to Date: £300,000 from FSE Group Enterprise M3 Expansion Loan
Description: “Clutch Space Systems offers software-defined radio (SDR) ground stations for satellite communication purposes. This SDR ground station technology enhances downlink communications, delivers substantial cost reductions, and offers greater flexibility, supporting the rapidly expanding Satcoms market.”

Helix Technologies
Funding to Date: Not Available
Description: “Helix Technologies focuses on enabling high-precision GPS antennas, achieving accuracy at the 10cm level. Utilizing advancements in manufacturing and radio frequency (RF) technology, Helix has created a new GNSS antenna featuring a ceramic core, capable of providing precise dynamic positioning accuracy while maintaining a compact size for demanding telecommunications and navigation applications. The antenna’s design also provides strong resistance to signal reflection and jamming.”

Kinnami
Funding to Date: Amount not disclosed / Seed funding received from ICE71 Accelerate on June 25, 2020
Description: “Kinnami provides a unique solution for securing and optimizing data sharing, ongoing data migration, and management across distributed systems. Kinnami has developed a distinctive storage and security system, known as ‘AmiShare’, which fragments and encrypts data. By distributing these encrypted fragments across a network of devices, it secures data collected at the edge and is applicable to Satcoms, Defence, and Enterprise sectors.”

Starfish Space
Funding to Date: Amount not disclosed / Seed funding received on December 1, 2019
Description: “Starfish Space is working to establish an on-demand, in-space transportation and maintenance service for satellites in orbit. Their proximity Operations software combines innovative orbital mechanics, Machine Vision AI, and a low-thrust electric propulsion system to facilitate the use of smaller, more affordable space tugs capable of operating across different orbits. This technology addresses both Counter-space and Mission Extension opportunities.”

Sust Global
Funding to Date: Not Available
Description: “Sust Global delivers real-time geospatial monitoring at the asset level for the analysis of Climate Risk. Their platform integrates data from various satellites and ground-based sources to create comprehensive ‘Asset-Level Geospatial Analytics’. Sust combines this data with the latest Climate Models and Standardized Risk Assessments to analyze risk and provide quantifiable, actionable insights for the Financial Services industry.”

Vector Photonics
Funding to Date: Received undisclosed funding from ICURe in 2018; secured £70,000 from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and £30,000 from a Glasgow-based company in 2019 to support the aforementioned award.
