Send Encrypted Emails with Gmail - Chrome Extension

Protecting Your Email Communications with SafeGmail
Is secure communication a priority? Standard email transmissions are vulnerable to interception and unauthorized access. Fortunately, a free Google Chrome extension, SafeGmail, provides a solution for sending encrypted emails to anyone.
Encryption and decryption occur directly within your web browser. This ensures that only the sender and intended recipient can view the message content. Furthermore, both the sent and received emails remain encrypted within their respective inboxes.
How SafeGmail Functions
SafeGmail is compatible with all email providers used by your recipients. It doesn’t restrict communication to specific platforms.
Installation is straightforward. Simply navigate to the SafeGmail extension page using the provided link. Then, click the "Add to Chrome" button to begin the process.
A confirmation dialog will appear. Select "Add" to finalize the extension installation.
Upon successful installation, a notification will be displayed. It’s recommended to restart your Chrome browser and refresh your Gmail page.
Encrypting Your Emails
SafeGmail integrates seamlessly into the Gmail Compose screen. An "Encrypt?" checkbox will be added to the interface.
After composing your email, entering recipient addresses, and adding a subject line, check the "Encrypt?" box. This will reveal two fields: "Question" and "Answer".
Create a security question and corresponding answer known only to you and the recipient(s). Then, click "Send + Encrypt".
Important Note: The answer you provide is case-sensitive.
Receiving and Decrypting Emails
Recipients will receive an encrypted email that appears as text enclosed within dashed lines. They must copy this text and click a provided link to initiate decryption.
The recipient will be prompted to answer the security question. Upon correct submission, they will gain access to a decryption screen.
On the decryption screen, the recipient should paste the copied email content into the designated field and click "Show My Mail".
The decrypted message will then be displayed directly within the browser window.
Additional Features
SafeGmail also supports the inclusion of special language characters within encrypted messages.
