Samsung Unveils Galaxy S25 Series and Enhanced Gemini Integration

During Wednesday’s Samsung Unpacked 2025 event, the company officially presented the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Coinciding with this launch, Google released a comprehensive set of Android updates, prominently featuring enhancements to its artificial intelligence assistant, Gemini.

Improved Gemini Accessibility and Functionality

An upgraded Gemini became available to users starting Wednesday. This improved version is deeply integrated into various applications and services across devices.

The AI can now be instructed to execute several actions simultaneously across different apps with a single prompt. For example, a user seeking nearby dining options can have Gemini leverage Google Maps for suggestions and then draft a message to share those options through Google Messages.

New Gemini Extensions for Samsung Apps

Google also introduced new Gemini Extensions designed for seamless operation with key Samsung applications.

Gemini Live Enhancements

Further advancements were made to Gemini Live, Google’s voice-activated feature providing a conversational user experience.

Users can now practice important presentations with the assistant and receive instant verbal feedback. The system also supports the uploading of images, files, and YouTube videos directly into the conversation, increasing Gemini Live’s multimodal and contextual understanding.

Project Astra Capabilities Coming Soon

In the near future, Samsung will integrate Project Astra capabilities. This represents Google’s real-time, multimodal AI assistant.

New features will include screen sharing and live video streaming functionality. These additions will initially be available within the Gemini app on Android, and subsequently on the Galaxy S25 line of devices.

Dedicated Gemini Access Button

A new side button has been added to the Galaxy S25 series. This allows for quick and easy access to Gemini.

With a single press, users can task the AI with functions such as setting reminders, creating notes, or receiving information about scheduled meetings.
