Walnut Raises $15M to Revolutionize Sales Demos

Walnut Secures $15 Million in Series A Funding
Walnut has successfully raised $15 million in Series A funding. This investment round was spearheaded by Eight Roads Ventures, and will be utilized to further the development of the company’s sales experience platform.
Company Origins and Problem Identification
The company was founded in July 2020 by Yoav Vilner and Danni Friedland. Vilner previously observed, while working at another organization, challenges within technology marketing in Israel. He noted that sales representatives frequently encountered difficulties during product demonstrations.
These issues often stemmed from technical malfunctions or the necessity to request assistance from other departments for feature adjustments, causing delays. This realization prompted the creation of Walnut.
The Walnut Solution: A No-Code Demonstration Platform
Walnut offers a no-code platform designed to empower teams to rapidly create tailored product demonstrations. These demonstrations can then be seamlessly integrated into existing sales and marketing workflows.
Furthermore, the platform facilitates the generation of valuable insights derived from these demonstrations.
How the Platform Works
“Our platform allows sales and marketing teams to replicate their SaaS product within our cloud environment, which operates independently of the backend systems,” Vilner clarified.
This enables the creation of customized demonstration narratives aligned with specific customer needs. Post-demonstration, sales leaders gain access to data regarding the effectiveness of different approaches, fostering knowledge sharing and identifying optimal strategies for various company types.
Funding and Existing Investors
This latest funding round brings the total amount raised by the company to $21 million. It follows a prior $6 million seed round that included investments from NFX, A Capital, Liquid2 Ventures, and Graph Ventures, as stated by Vilner.
Current Client Base and Global Presence
Walnut currently serves over 60 business-to-business clients. Notable customers include Adobe, NetApp, Varonis, and People AI.
The company maintains a global presence with offices located in Tel Aviv, New York, and London.
Future Plans and Team Expansion
Vilner plans to allocate the new funding towards expanding the team across the U.S., Europe, and Israel. Continued development of the technology and platform is also a priority, with a focus on tools for embedding demos directly into websites to support product-led growth.
The company anticipates doubling its current team of 25 employees within the next year.
Investor Perspective
Eyal Rabinovich, an investor at Eight Roads Ventures, shared that his brother is a Walnut customer. He highlighted the company’s alignment with the firm’s investment strategy, which centers on vertically integrated brands in SaaS and deep technology.
Rabinovich had been monitoring the sales enablement sector and observed that many companies focus on workflow and processes, while Walnut addresses a fundamental challenge within the sales process.
The Impact of Measurable Results
“They render everything quantifiable, and achieving even a 1% improvement in conversion rates can translate to millions of dollars,” Rabinovich explained. “Every organization we engaged with expressed a desire to utilize this product, with customers reporting accelerated sales cycles, often closing deals within two weeks.”
