Plus One Robotics Secures $33 Million in Series B Funding

Plus One Robotics, headquartered in San Antonio, has announced the completion of a $33 million Series B funding round. This investment builds upon a previous $8.3 million Series A raise from 2018, bringing the company’s total funding to over $40 million.

Investment Details

The current funding round was spearheaded by McRock Capital and TransLink Ventures. Additional participation came from BMWi Ventures, Kensington Capital Partners, Ironspring Ventures, and the company’s existing investor base.

Focus on Robotics and Computer Vision

Established in 2016, Plus One Robotics specializes in developing computer vision software tailored for robotic applications within logistics and warehouse environments. This sector is experiencing significant growth as businesses increasingly seek automation solutions for their operational backends.

A key feature of their system is its adaptability. It’s engineered to integrate seamlessly with a diverse array of robotic arms and grippers, catering to the varied requirements of different users.

Expansion Plans

The newly acquired funds will be utilized to broaden the company’s international operations. This expansion is a direct response to the escalating global demand for robotic solutions.

The system’s capabilities extend to centralized management, enabling control over a network of up to 50 robots simultaneously.

Executive Statement

“We are thrilled to expand in parallel with our customers, both domestically and internationally,” stated Erik Nieves, CEO and co-founder of Plus One Robotics, in a press release. “Our investors’ global presence, spanning Asia, the EU, and North America, positions Plus One for continued growth of our international customer base.”

Board Appointments

As part of this funding round, Whitney Rockley from McRock Capital and Toshi Otani from TransLink have been appointed to Plus One Robotics’ board of directors.

This strategic addition to the board will provide valuable guidance as the company scales its operations and expands its market reach.
