Installation Process
The installation of WildFire CD Ripper is straightforward, guiding you through five distinct installation screens. Pay close attention during the third screen; you should deselect the “P2P Energy – torrent toolbar” if you do not wish to install it.
Following the completion of the installation, the WildFire CD Ripper homepage will automatically launch in your web browser. The interface is well-organized and intuitive to use.
Menus and Available Options
WildFire CD Ripper features a comprehensive set of menus, providing swift and convenient access to settings and adjustments. The following image illustrates all the menus available within the program.
The Settings Window mirrors the appearance and size of the Main Window. Within it, you can customize settings for Generic options, Filenames, CD Drive, Encoder (the default tab), Local CDDB, and Remote CDDB. Navigating through the tabs reveals the extensive range of options and settings available.
Using WildFire CD Ripper
During testing, we chose to rip a recent Hannah Montana CD to the mp3 format. The CD was recognized without issue; however, due to its recent release, we needed to manually rename each track and input the album information.
It’s worth noting that WildFire CD Ripper allows you to search online databases for album information with a single click, accessible via the Right Side Toolbar.
To initiate the ripping process, select the desired tracks and then click the corresponding button on the Right Side Toolbar, based on the action you wish to perform. In this instance, we selected the option to rip and convert the tracks to mp3.
The Progress Window displays the status of the ripping process, showing progress for each track individually.
An interesting observation after completing the example CD was the “Save Architecture” used for the songs. Each song was placed within its own subfolder, identified by the track number.
