Revisiting Online Music Factory

This article revisits a previously featured resource from the Mysticgeek Archives. The intention is to provide updated information, explore new developments, and gather community feedback.

We welcome any additional insights, questions, or comments you may have regarding this tool.

Let's begin by re-examining Online Music Factory.

Online Music Factory: An Overview

I recently discovered this engaging online music application, JamStudio.com. It provides a platform for mixing audio loops without requiring prior musical knowledge or the ability to read music.

The site is incredibly absorbing, and I’ve already spent considerable time experimenting with its features. Music enthusiasts will undoubtedly find it enjoyable.

JamStudio allows users to save their musical projects and even offers embed code for sharing on platforms like MySpace.

Users can select a desired key for their composition. Even without familiarity with chord structures, experimentation is encouraged!

The core of the application is a comprehensive library featuring a diverse range of instruments. These include guitar, bass, drums, piano, electric piano, and organs.

revisited-online-music-factory-1.jpgUpdate: The platform has undergone several enhancements, encompassing both visual design and functionality.

These updates include the addition of premium sound libraries and expanded chord variations. This section is dedicated to arranging your song or "score".

revisited-online-music-factory-2.jpgArrangement is achieved by selecting chords within a chosen key. The mixer allows you to specify the instruments that will play and contribute to the overall sound.

Musical expertise isn’t necessary for creating arrangements; simply explore different chord progressions and tempos to discover what resonates with you!

revisited-online-music-factory-3.jpgI’ve uploaded a short, four-chord progression to the public folder for demonstration purposes. You can listen to it here.

Creating an account allows you to further manipulate the song using the available loops. Completed songs can then be emailed to friends.

A monthly subscription of $10 unlocks access to premium sound libraries and the ability to export your songs as MP3 files.

These exported loops can be integrated into professional audio editing software such as Acid, Sonar, Cakewalk, and Audacity, enabling the creation of more complex compositions!
