FoodBoss Now Offers Direct Restaurant Delivery

FoodBoss is designed to function similarly to Kayak for online food orders – it's a platform where users can compare options from various services and applications to locate the most affordable prices and quickest delivery estimates.

Previously, a key constraint was that the service only included third-party delivery platforms such as Uber Eats and Postmates, lacking the ability to place orders directly with the restaurant – a limitation that has recently been addressed with the introduction of a new feature known as Restaurant Direct.

Michael DiBenedetto, co-founder and CEO of FoodBoss, explained that restaurants are increasingly focused on facilitating delivery and pickup orders directly, aiming to reduce the commissions paid to third-party services and cultivate stronger relationships with their customer base.

“A primary issue is that they’ve invested significant resources in establishing [ordering] systems, but they may not realize the need to allocate marketing funds to attract customers to their website or application,” DiBenedetto stated. “This is where we provide substantial assistance.”

The implementation of Restaurant Direct may introduce some technical complexities, as it will necessitate FoodBoss to integrate with a diverse range of ordering systems. DiBenedetto indicated that the company will utilize APIs in certain instances and also collaborate directly with the IT departments of restaurants.

He underscored that FoodBoss will maintain neutrality regarding the ordering method – the primary objective is to present all available choices and emphasize the option that best aligns with the user’s preferences.

“At FoodBoss, our focus is on assisting both third-party services and [restaurants] in lowering their overall marketing expenses,” DiBenedetto added. “Profitability in delivery is a shared goal.”

Lou Malnati’s, a Chicago-based restaurant, is the first establishment available through Restaurant Direct, with plans to incorporate Sbarro in several markets in the coming year. Heather Stege, president of Lou Malnati’s, commented in a statement, “Restaurants face the challenge of serving customers through their preferred channels while consistently delivering high-quality food. FoodBoss simplifies this by providing multiple options, including our own, to attract customers.”
