Removing Unwanted Software with PC Decrapifier

Is a newly purchased computer burdened with unnecessary programs and trialware? Or perhaps an existing system could benefit from a thorough cleanup? PC Decrapifier offers a streamlined solution to expedite and simplify this process.

Getting Started

PC Decrapifier doesn't require a complex installation procedure. Simply execute the .exe file to initiate the program. The initial screen presents an introduction to the software and provides an option to check for the latest version updates.

Proceed by clicking “Next” when you are ready to continue.

License Agreement and Warnings

The subsequent screen displays the End User License Agreement (EULA). Review the terms carefully before proceeding.

A warning is then presented, advising caution regarding software you may have intentionally installed. Accidental removal of legitimately desired programs should be avoided.

System Configuration

The program will then inquire about the type of computer you are using. Select the option that accurately reflects your system configuration. In our case, “Yes” was selected as an example.

Creating a Restore Point

Before initiating the removal process, the application offers the opportunity to create a “Restore Point”. This is strongly recommended, allowing you to revert changes if necessary.

Once the “Restore Point” is created, a notification will appear. The creation time will vary depending on your system’s specifications. You are now prepared to scan for unwanted software; click “Next”.

Scanning for Garbage Software

In our test environment with Windows 7, the initial scan revealed no unwanted software. However, the process doesn’t end there.

You will then be given the chance to remove additional software not initially identified by PC Decrapifier, or programs added after your computer was first set up. Click “Next” to view the detected items.

Reviewing and Selecting Software for Removal

PC Decrapifier presents a list of software currently installed on your computer. For instance, instances of Google Toolbar and Musicmatch Jukebox, which were not pre-installed by the manufacturer, were identified.

This is an ideal opportunity to eliminate software that is consuming hard drive space and potentially impacting performance. Select the programs you wish to remove and click “Next”.

Confirmation and Final Review

A final confirmation screen appears, allowing you to cancel the removal process if you have any doubts about your selections.

Removal Process

The removal process will then begin. You may be prompted to confirm the uninstallation of non-OEM software through standard Windows uninstall windows.

Completion

Once complete, the final window provides an option to submit feedback to the software developer. Otherwise, click “Finish” to close PC Decrapifier.
