Read Long-Form Articles on Kindle with Delivereads

The Appeal of Long-Form Reading on Kindle
As a writer focused on technology, my personal collection of gadgets is surprisingly minimal. However, my Kindle is an exception – a device I wouldn’t part with. The ability to access a vast library of books on a single, portable device featuring a paper-like screen truly feels futuristic.
Occasionally, however, a book isn’t the ideal choice. Sometimes, the desire arises to engage with a substantial, thoughtfully composed magazine article that expands knowledge or provides insightful perspectives.
Discovering Delivereads
One of the benefits of long-form articles is the ability to complete them in a single session, replicating the satisfying experience of leisurely reading a newspaper. Delivereads provides a convenient solution for accessing this type of content on your Kindle.
Initially, the website interface presents a straightforward design.
The first step involves registering the service with your Kindle. Each Kindle is assigned a unique email address, but only addresses explicitly added to Amazon’s approved “white list” can send content to it.
Access Amazon’s Manage My Kindle page to authorize Delivereads as a permitted sender.
Setting Up Your Subscription
The email address for Delivereads is dave@delivereads.com. This address is associated with Dave Pell, the curator responsible for selecting and distributing the articles through the service.
Next, locate your Kindle’s specific email address, which is found on the same Amazon page under the Your Kindle Devices section.
This address is then entered into the Delivereads website.
Only the initial portion of the address needs to be pasted, with the appropriate domain suffix selected from the provided drop-down menu. Clicking Subscribe then confirms the registration.
Enjoying Long-Form Content
The process is remarkably simple. A confirmation message should appear on your Kindle within approximately one hour. Following this, you will periodically receive curated long-form articles directly to your device for your reading enjoyment.
Understanding Our Weekly Content
Many readers inquire about the types of articles they will receive through our subscription service. This outlines the current selection, accurate as of today’s date.
Featured Articles This Week
- The Atlantic: "The Brain on Trial"
- The Atlantic: "How to Land Your Kid in Therapy"
- The New York Times: "Roger Federer as Religious Experience"
- HuffPost: "Facebooking Frank"
The article concerning AOL proved to be particularly insightful. Having previously contributed to Download Squad, a division of AOL, my personal experience differed significantly from the portrayal presented.
It was nonetheless fascinating to gain a glimpse into the operations of other AOL departments. The reading time for this article was approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
This timeframe allowed for a leisurely enjoyment of a coffee break while absorbing the information.
Alternative Long-Form Article Delivery Services
Although Delivereads demonstrates strong implementation, the concept of providing extended articles specifically for the Kindle platform isn't entirely novel. Send Me A Story pioneered this approach; however, updates from their service have been absent for a considerable period.
It is anticipated that Delivereads will maintain a more reliable and sustained delivery schedule.
Seeking Additional Options
Are you aware of comparable services that exist, potentially those not managed by an individual curator?
Discovering alternative platforms could broaden access to long-form content.
- Delivereads offers a curated selection of articles.
- Send Me A Story was an earlier entrant, but is currently inactive.
The availability of diverse services ensures readers have choices in how they consume in-depth written material.
