Three distinct values are available for this setting:

• Default
• No close tab buttons are displayed anywhere, requiring the use of middle-click or Ctrl+W for tab closure.
• The close tab button is relocated to the right side of the tab bar.

Disabling Close Buttons With Tab Mix Plus

If you are a user of the Tab Mix Plus extension, the process is equally straightforward. Access the Tab Mix Plus options through the Tools menu, then navigate to Display \ Tab. Ensure the "Close tab button" checkbox is unchecked to disable the individual tab close buttons.
