Obtaining Specific Directory Information with Karen’s Directory Printer

Do you require a solution for generating printed or text-based directory listings, customized to display only the details you need? Karen’s Directory Printer offers the flexibility to define precisely what information is included.

Installation Process

During the installation procedure, the third window presented is crucial. You will be prompted to select whether the program should be accessible to all user accounts on your computer, or limited to the current user only.

Exploring Directory Printer’s Interface

Upon launching Directory Printer, you’ll encounter four distinct tab areas for navigation. The “Welcome Tab Area” serves as an introductory resource, providing fundamental information and helpful tips for program utilization.

The “Print Tab Area” is dedicated to the direct printing of desired information. Utilize the tree structure to navigate and select the target directory. Subsequently, you can pinpoint the specific details concerning files and their respective folders that you wish to print.

Note: The “Arrow Keys” located on the right-hand side of the interface allow for reordering the displayed lists.

The “Save To Disk Tab Area” allows you to determine the exact data to be included in a new text file. Pay attention to the “Formatting Options” at the bottom, enabling you to exclude supplementary information according to your preferences.

Note: Should you transition to this tab after working within the “Print Tab Area”, you will need to re-select the previously chosen directory.

Further refinements to the folder and file information, whether for printing or saving, can be made within the “Other Settings Tab Area”.

Karen’s Directory Printer in Use

As an illustration, we chose to print the directory information for the Miranda Instant Messenger folder on a Vista operating system. After specifying the desired information, initiating the print process was as simple as clicking the “Print Button”.

For the creation of our text file, we opted to omit additional information via the “Formatting Options”. Once configured, the data was saved to disk and became readily available for use.

The resulting text file displays all folders and files in a clear and organized manner.

Concluding Remarks

If the ability to selectively choose the directory information for printing or saving to text files appeals to you, Karen’s Directory Printer is certainly a program deserving of your consideration.
