Prime Video AI Dubbing: New Feature for Movies & TV

Prime Video Trials AI-Powered Dubbing Technology
Prime Video has initiated testing of AI-assisted dubbing for a selection of its licensed film and television content, as revealed by the streaming platform on Wednesday.
The streaming service states that this new trial will incorporate AI-driven dubbing in both English and Latin American Spanish.
This approach blends artificial intelligence with the expertise of human localization specialists to maintain rigorous quality control, according to the company.
Initial Rollout and Available Titles
The initial phase will provide dubbing for 12 previously unsupported titles.
Among these are the Spanish animated feature “El Cid: La Leyenda,” the family drama “Mi Mamá Lora,” and the independent film “Long Lost.”
The Rise of AI in Dubbing
The adoption of AI-based dubbing is increasing within the entertainment sector, expanding content accessibility to wider audiences.
Several major streaming providers are now integrating this technology into their workflows.
Industry Players and Similar Initiatives
Companies like Deepdub, which specializes in AI dubbing solutions, currently serve clients such as Paramount+.
YouTube has also made substantial investments in this field, recently launching an automated dubbing feature for video creators.
This new feature enables creators to translate their videos into numerous languages.
Existing AI Features on Prime Video
Prime Video already provides a range of AI-powered features designed to improve the user experience.
These include “X-Ray Recaps,” which offer concise summaries of seasons and episodes, and “Dialogue Boost,” which enhances the clarity of spoken dialogue.
“Dialogue Boost” is particularly useful for content where dialogue may be challenging to understand.
