Stop URL Printing in Firefox & Internet Explorer - Easy Fix

Eliminating URLs from Printed Pages
For those who prefer reading articles in a physical format, a common frustration arises: the unwanted inclusion of page URLs on every printed page. This can be particularly irritating and represents an unnecessary consumption of ink. Fortunately, a simple adjustment within your web browser can resolve this issue.
Removing URLs in Internet Explorer
To disable URL printing in Internet Explorer, begin by clicking the small arrow adjacent to the printer icon in the toolbar. From the dropdown menu, select "Page Setup."
A "Headers and Footers" section will appear, allowing you to control what elements are included in the print output. The codes, such as &w and &b, dynamically populate with page-specific information, including the URL.
Simply clear the text from the "Footer" box to prevent the URL from appearing on printed pages. Further customization options are available as detailed in related documentation.
Tip: For a single print job, utilize the "Print Preview" function and toggle the "Turn headers and footers on or off" button to temporarily suppress header and footer content.
Removing URLs in Firefox
Within Firefox, navigate to "File" then "Page Setup" from the main menu. This will open a dialog box; select the "Margins & Header/Footer" tab.
Using the dropdown menus, you can modify the settings for the "Title" and "URL" to "--blank--". This will effectively prevent these elements from being printed.
Note: This same configuration area allows you to reposition page numbers, such as moving them from the bottom to the top of the page, if desired.
Accessing "Page Setup" through the "Print Preview" screen will apply the changes only to the current print job, offering a temporary solution without altering the default settings.
