Plaud Note Pro: AI Hardware Notetaker - $179

Plaud.ai Introduces the Plaud AI Pro Notetaker
Plaud.ai, a hardware innovator, announced the release of its latest device, the Plaud AI Pro, on Wednesday.
This new physical notetaker is available for $179.
The launch follows two years after the initial Plaud Note and one year after the company’s introduction of an AI pin.
Understanding the Plaud Note Ecosystem
The original Plaud Note is a compact, credit-card-sized hardware notetaker.
It’s designed to adhere to the back of a smartphone, facilitating note-taking during phone calls or face-to-face meetings.
Key Improvements in the Note Pro
The Note Pro maintains a similar form factor to its predecessor, but incorporates a significant upgrade.
A 0.95-inch AMOLED screen is now included, displaying crucial information such as recording status and remaining battery life.
Enhanced Recording Capabilities
The Note Pro provides up to 30 hours of recording time at its standard range.
Alternatively, users can extend recording duration to 50 hours by utilizing a reduced range of 9.8 feet (approximately 3 meters).
Superior Audio Capture
The device features four MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) microphones, an increase from the two found in the previous generation.
This enhancement allows for audio capture within a range of 16.4 feet (nearly 5 meters), representing a doubling of the original Note’s range.
Improved noise suppression and speaker identification are also benefits of the upgraded microphone system.
Automated Recording Modes
Unlike the original Note, which required manual switching between call and in-person recording modes, the Note Pro automatically detects the recording environment.
Companion App Updates
Plaud.ai is simultaneously releasing updates to its companion application.
Users can now create text-based notes directly within the app, similar to platforms like Granola, and incorporate images, such as presentation slides.
Advanced Summarization Features
The app update introduces “multidimensional summaries,” enabling the extraction of insights in various formats, including key takeaways and specific data points.
Pre-built templates are available for summary generation, with the app intelligently suggesting the most appropriate template based on the user’s role.
Custom template creation is also supported.
Note Querying (Beta)
A new feature, currently in beta, allows users to directly query their recorded notes.
Pricing and Availability
The Plaud Note Pro is priced at $179 (or £169).
Pre-orders are being accepted starting today, with shipments scheduled for October 2025.
Customers who pre-order will receive 600 complimentary transcription minutes and a magnetic carrying case.
A free tier provides 300 monthly transcription minutes, with options for paid monthly plans or one-time minute purchases for increased usage.
Market Position and Success
Plaud has demonstrated consistent success in the AI device market, unlike some competitors.
Bee, previously backed by Exor, was acquired by Amazon, and Friend experienced shipping delays before commencing deliveries.
User Growth and Adoption
Plaud.ai reports having shipped over one million units of its AI hardware notetakers.
Nearly 50% of users have upgraded to the Pro plan.
