Free Perplexity Pro & Comet Invites: PayPal & Venmo Giveaway

Comet Browser Access Granted: PayPal & Perplexity Partnership
Currently, obtaining invitations to utilize Perplexity’s innovative, AI-driven web browser, Comet, is highly sought after within the online community. Initial access was provided to subscribers of Perplexity’s Max plan, priced at $200 monthly, alongside a limited number of invited individuals.
New Path to Early Access
However, a new avenue for accelerating access to the waitlist has emerged. PayPal recently announced that its customer base, encompassing both PayPal and Venmo users, will receive prioritized access to Comet. Furthermore, a complimentary one-year subscription to Perplexity’s premium service, Perplexity Pro – typically valued at $200 annually – will be provided.
Launched in July, the browser integrates an AI assistant, generates concise summaries of search findings, facilitates product comparisons, and offers a range of other advanced functionalities.
Strategic Collaboration
While co-marketing initiatives are commonplace, this particular partnership warrants attention due to PayPal’s capacity to introduce Comet to a vast audience of millions of U.S. consumers, with further global expansion planned.
Benefits for Both Companies
This arrangement signifies an expansion of the existing collaboration between PayPal and the AI provider, yielding mutual benefits. Previously this summer, the companies collaborated on agentic commerce within Perplexity’s platform. This allowed PayPal or Venmo users to complete purchases instantly when prompted by the AI to locate products, arrange travel, or acquire tickets.
For PayPal, this deal presents an opportunity to attract users to its applications with the incentive of a Comet invitation and a free subscription. It also highlights a new subscriptions hub feature, offering a centralized location for users to manage their recurring payments.
Perplexity's Gains
Alongside this, PayPal is currently offering $50 to customers who connect and pay for a minimum of three subscriptions through their service.
Meanwhile, Perplexity benefits from increased visibility in a competitive landscape where AI agents vie for prominence, and AI-powered browsers aim to challenge the dominance of browsers like Chrome.
The partnership may also contribute to an increase in paid Perplexity subscribers, as users may choose to continue their subscriptions after the initial free year of Perplexity Pro concludes.
How to Claim the Offer
PayPal and Venmo users can access the offer directly within their respective apps to receive the free 12-month subscription and Comet invite. Each PayPal account is eligible for only one invitation, and existing Perplexity Pro subscribers are not eligible.
“Our partnership with Perplexity gives PayPal and Venmo customers early access to one of the most anticipated AI browsers and dynamic subscriptions,” stated Diego Scotti, General Manager of the Consumer Group at PayPal. “We are pleased to provide offers and tools that our customers have requested, simplifying their financial lives and providing added convenience and rewards.”
Availability and Rollout
The offer is valid through the end of 2025 and is initially available to U.S. customers, with select international availability at launch. Further international market rollout is scheduled for later this month.
Following sign-up for Perplexity Pro, users will receive instructions on downloading and installing the Comet browser.
The subscriptions hub is now available to all U.S. customers, following a preliminary rollout phase.
Note: Following the initial publication of this article, PayPal informed us that the feature would be extended to certain international markets today. This information has been incorporated into the updated article.
