Opera Browser Now Codes Websites & Games - AI Integration

Opera Announces AI-Powered Browser: Opera Neon
Opera unveiled a novel browser, Opera Neon, on Tuesday. This new offering is designed to prioritize AI-driven workflows and automate tasks for users.
These tasks encompass a range of activities, including online shopping, automated form completion, and even assisting with coding endeavors.
Limited Access and Subscription Model
Currently, access to Opera Neon is restricted to those on a waitlist. However, Opera has confirmed that a subscription will be required for usage upon its official release.
Specific pricing information remains undisclosed at this time.
Key Features: Chat, Do, and Make
Opera Neon introduces three distinct buttons integrated into its sidebar: Chat, Do, and Make.
The Chat function provides a chatbot interface. This allows users to conduct web searches, obtain answers to questions, and gather additional details about the webpages they are currently viewing.
Automated Tasks with 'Do'
The Do feature leverages Opera's Browser Operator AI agent, initially announced in March.
This AI agent is designed to autonomously execute tasks such as completing online forms and managing travel arrangements directly within the browser environment.
Content Creation with 'Make'
The Make option is particularly noteworthy. Opera states that it facilitates the creation of various content types, including games, websites, code snippets, and reports, all through simple text prompts.
The AI processes powering this feature operate via a virtual machine in the cloud. This ensures that Opera Neon can continue working on tasks even without an active internet connection.
Furthermore, users are able to execute multiple tasks concurrently.
Competition and Potential Challenges
While these capabilities appear promising, the actual performance of AI-integrated applications often falls short of expectations.
Opera is not alone in developing AI agents for browsers. The Browser Company previewed an AI-powered browser in December, focused on task automation, and Google is also actively pursuing similar projects.
These competing initiatives aim to deliver search results and perform actions utilizing AI agents.
