This new iteration of the AI chatbot platform is specifically tailored to offer U.S. government entities enhanced access to this technology.
Key Features and Capabilities
ChatGPT Gov incorporates a significant number of the functionalities present in OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise, which is geared towards corporate users.
Government agencies utilizing the platform will have the ability to deploy select OpenAI models on either Microsoft Azure commercial or government-designated cloud environments.
OpenAI emphasizes that ChatGPT Gov facilitates improved management of security, privacy, and compliance for agencies.
Furthermore, it is designed to streamline the internal approval processes for utilizing OpenAI’s tools when dealing with sensitive, non-public information.
Growing Government Adoption
According to OpenAI, since the beginning of 2024, over 90,000 individuals representing more than 3,500 U.S. federal, state, and local government organizations have actively used ChatGPT.
These users have collectively sent in excess of 18 million messages through the platform to assist with their daily tasks.
This demonstrates a substantial and increasing reliance on AI tools within the public sector.
