Nutrium App Raises $4.9M to Connect Dietitians and Patients

Nutrium, a company focused on digital health that connects registered dietitians with the individuals they serve through a dedicated application, has secured €4.25 million in a seed funding round. The investment was spearheaded by Indico Capital Partners, with additional participation from the Social Innovation Fund in Portugal (SIF) and existing stakeholders. Currently, Nutrium provides specialized nutrition software solutions to 80,000 healthcare professionals and supports 800,000 patients across over 40 nations.
The company intends to utilize this new funding to expand its team by 100% over the next two years. This growth will prioritize further development of the platform and the broadening of sales efforts into key international markets, including Spain, France, Italy, the United States, and the United Kingdom – regions where Nutrium has already established a significant client base.
The Nutrium platform delivers comprehensive nutritional guidance to patients, integrating expert recommendations, ongoing progress tracking, and convenient access to relevant health products.
André Santos, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Nutrium, stated: “We are making substantial progress toward realizing our goal of positively influencing the dietary choices of millions worldwide.”
Stephan Morais, Managing General Partner at Indico, noted: “Nutrium is poised to evolve into a comprehensive platform, uniting nutrition professionals, patients, products, and wellness information to foster healthier and more fulfilling lifestyles. We are delighted to support this shared vision with both financial resources and expertise.”
Rui Ferreira, Vice President at Portugal Ventures, added: “When Portugal Ventures initially invested in Nutrium’s pre-seed phase in 2017, the company’s reach was limited to just two markets. Now, Nutrium is active in more than 40 markets and has experienced dramatic revenue growth.”
Companies offering similar services to Nutrium include NutriAdmin, AppointmentPlus and Evolution Nutrition, which has previously raised $2.3 million in funding.
