NotebookLM Video Overviews Now Support 80 Languages

NotebookLM Expands Language Support for Video and Audio Overviews
Google revealed on Monday an update to NotebookLM’s Video Overviews feature, now encompassing support for 80 languages. This expansion includes widely used languages such as French, German, Spanish, and Japanese.
Simultaneously, enhancements have been implemented for Audio Overviews, resulting in more comprehensive summaries for audio content not originally in English.
Video Overviews Now Multilingual
The launch of Video Overviews occurred last month, enabling users to transform their notes, PDF documents, and images into dynamic video presentations.
Initially restricted to English, this latest update provides significant advantages for individuals who do not speak English, allowing them to benefit from visual summaries presented in their native language.
Enhanced Audio Overviews for Global Users
Improvements have also been made to Audio Overviews, specifically for users who prefer languages other than English.
Previously, these overviews were limited to concise summaries, with the full-length version exclusively available in English. Now, users can access more detailed overviews in over 80 languages.
A shorter summary option will remain available for those seeking only the key highlights.
Meeting the Needs of a Global Audience
These updates are strategically designed to cater to the diverse requirements of NotebookLM’s international user base.
The goal is to facilitate learning through either video or audio summaries, regardless of the user’s preferred language.
The rollout of these updates began today and will continue globally over the course of the next week, ensuring accessibility for all users.
