Netflix Introduces One-Tap Season Downloads for iOS Users

On Wednesday, Netflix revealed a new capability for its iOS application: the ability to download complete seasons of television shows with a single tap. This functionality was initially released for Android users previously.

How the Season Download Feature Works

Within the Netflix app, a Season Download button has been integrated. It’s positioned adjacent to the Share button on the page displaying a show’s details. Selecting this option enables users to download all episodes from a chosen season of a TV series rapidly.

All downloaded content will be accessible within the Downloads section, found under the My Netflix tab.

This update proves particularly beneficial for individuals who travel frequently or often encounter areas with restricted or absent internet connectivity.

Previously, downloading episodes was limited to a single episode at a time, creating a lengthy and cumbersome process. Now, viewers can efficiently prepare for periods without internet access.

Benefits for Viewers

The new feature allows for easy preparation for travel by enabling the download of extensive series, such as “Blacklist,” which typically contains around 22 episodes per season.

This streamlined process significantly improves the user experience when offline viewing is desired.

The announcement of this new feature follows the release of Netflix’s fourth-quarter earnings report. This report indicated a substantial gain of 19 million new subscribers, marking a record-setting increase.
