Microsoft Copilot for Gaming: Testing Begins on Xbox App (iOS & Android)

Copilot for Gaming Beta Now Available
Microsoft has announced the commencement of its Copilot for Gaming beta rollout. This initial release is accessible to beta participants through the Xbox app on both iOS and Android platforms.
Key Features of the Beta
This early iteration of the assistant is designed to respond to inquiries regarding games of interest. It provides links to supplementary information and delivers answers tailored to your individual Xbox account.
The system leverages your play history and achievements to provide personalized responses. For instance, users can ask about their gamer score or request advice on improving it.
Example Queries
Consider these example questions you could pose to Copilot for Gaming:
- “What’s my gamer score and can you give me some tips to raise it?”
- “I love horror movies. Any suggestions for what game I should play?”
- “What was the last achievement I got in Starfield?”
- “When does my Game Pass subscription renew?”
Second Screen Experience
According to Taylor O’Malley, principal program manager at Xbox, this mobile version is intended for use as a second screen. This allows access to assistance without interrupting the primary gaming experience.
How Copilot Formulates Responses
When a question is submitted, Copilot analyzes your Xbox player activity. It also incorporates publicly available data from Bing to construct a relevant response.
Microsoft is actively developing enhancements. These include increased personalization and more advanced game assistance features, such as proactive coaching.
