Microsoft Releases Hotmail Android App & Updates

Hotmail Updates and Android App Release
Microsoft is encouraging users to revisit Hotmail, signaling a series of enhancements focused on email management and combating unwanted subscription emails, often referred to as "greymail".
A key development is the launch of an official Hotmail application for Android devices. This marks Microsoft’s entry into the Android app ecosystem, providing Hotmail users on Android with a dedicated app for seamless two-way synchronization of emails, contacts, and calendar events.
Improved Greymail Control
The updates to Hotmail introduce refined methods for managing greymail – those newsletters and subscriptions users may have signed up for but no longer find valuable. Hotmail now automatically categorizes these newsletters, and a single-click unsubscribe function simplifies the process of opting out.
New Features for Email Organization
Scheduled Cleanup is a new tool designed to maintain a focused inbox. It allows users to retain only the most recent email from specific senders, automatically deleting or archiving older messages.
The “Flags done right” feature streamlines flagged message management. It prioritizes flagged emails by moving them to the top of the inbox and enables automatic flagging based on sender or subject line.
Enhanced Customization
Responding to user demand, Microsoft has incorporated custom categories. Users can now create personalized categories and efficiently apply them to multiple emails simultaneously.
The official Hotmail app is now available for download on Android, representing a significant improvement for many users.
What are your thoughts on these Hotmail changes? Do they warrant attention, or would a more substantial overhaul be preferable? Share your opinions in the comments section below.
