Bing AI Video Generator: Microsoft Integrates Sora

Bing Integrates OpenAI's Sora for AI Video Generation

Microsoft Bing has announced the addition of Bing Video Creator to its application. This new feature leverages the capabilities of OpenAI’s Sora model, enabling users to produce videos directly from textual descriptions.

Sora Access Expanded Through Bing

OpenAI, maintaining its established collaboration with Microsoft, has currently restricted access to Sora’s video generation technology to subscribers. The inclusion of Sora within Microsoft Bing marks the first instance where this technology will be offered without charge.

Currently, the Bing Video Creator is accessible only through the mobile app, not on desktop platforms.

Video Generation Details and Costs

The initial video generation process can be time-consuming, potentially taking several hours to complete. Even the “fast” mode, designed for quicker results, may still require a few minutes for completion.

All users with a Microsoft account can initially create up to 10 video clips at no cost.

Following the initial free allocation, a charge of 100 Microsoft Rewards points will be applied per video generated.

Earning Microsoft Rewards Points

These reward points can be accumulated through various activities, including utilizing Bing for searches and making purchases from the Microsoft Store.

  • 5 points are awarded for each PC search performed using Bing.
  • A daily cap of 150 points can be earned through Bing searches.

Video Specifications and Future Updates

Users are able to queue up to three 5-second video generations simultaneously. Currently, the video length is fixed at 5 seconds.

At present, videos are generated exclusively in a vertical 9:16 aspect ratio, potentially encouraging sharing on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

Support for horizontal 9:16 aspect ratio uploads is planned for future implementation.
