Meta Connect WhatsApp to Instagram & Facebook - New Feature

Meta Integrates WhatsApp with Accounts Center
Meta revealed on Tuesday a forthcoming feature allowing users to link their WhatsApp account to their Accounts Center. This central hub already facilitates the management of connected experiences across Facebook, Instagram, and Meta Quest accounts.
Streamlined Status Sharing
This integration will enable users to simultaneously share their WhatsApp Status updates as Stories on both Instagram and Facebook. This eliminates the necessity for repetitive posting across multiple platforms.
Furthermore, the feature introduces a “Single Sign On” capability. This authentication method allows for convenient access to various applications using a unified account, similar to utilizing Facebook credentials for Instagram login.
Optional and Secure Connection
Linking a WhatsApp account to Accounts Center is entirely optional and is disabled by default. Users must actively choose to enable this functionality.
Meta assures users that end-to-end encryption will continue to protect WhatsApp messages and calls, even with the account linked to the hub.
Accounts Center: A Unified Management System
Introduced in 2020, Accounts Center, accessible within the Settings of Meta’s applications, provides a centralized location for managing connections between the company’s various services.
Future Enhancements Planned
Meta intends to expand the functionality of Accounts Center. Future updates will include management options for avatars, Meta AI stickers, and creations generated through “Imagine Me”.
Global Rollout and Availability
The WhatsApp integration is currently being deployed globally. However, complete availability for all users is expected to take several months.
The integration option will appear within WhatsApp settings when available. Users may also encounter the integration prompt when performing cross-account actions, such as sharing a Status to another Meta application.
