Meta and Prada Partner on AI Smart Glasses

Meta and Prada Collaborate on New AI Smart Glasses
According to a CNBC report released on Tuesday, Meta is currently developing a new generation of AI-powered smart glasses in partnership with the renowned Italian fashion house, Prada.
The timing of a public announcement regarding these Meta Prada smart glasses remains unspecified at this moment.
Expanding Beyond EssilorLuxottica
This collaboration with Prada demonstrates Meta’s intention to broaden the application of its AI smart glass technology to a wider range of fashion enterprises.
Previously, Meta’s efforts were largely concentrated within its established partnership with the eyewear industry leader, EssilorLuxottica.
It’s important to note that Prada does not fall under the ownership of EssilorLuxottica, despite a long-standing reliance on the company for eyewear manufacturing and a recently renewed collaborative agreement.
Building on Existing Success
Meta has already achieved significant sales figures with its Ray-Ban Meta AI smart glasses, selling millions of units.
Furthermore, the company recently hinted at an upcoming collaboration with Oakley, another brand within the EssilorLuxottica portfolio, as was initially reported by Bloomberg.
Oakley Smart Glasses on the Horizon
CNBC suggests that the Oakley smart glasses could be unveiled as early as Friday.
Initial estimates indicate a potential price point of approximately $360 for the new Oakley model.
This expansion into multiple fashion brands highlights Meta’s strategy to integrate AI technology into everyday eyewear.
