Meta Names New Head for Threads
Meta has designated Connor Hayes, currently the VP of Product for Generative AI at Meta, as the new leader of Threads, as reported by Axios.

Previously, Adam Mosseri, who also leads Instagram, oversaw the operation of Threads. However, the platform’s expansion has led to a need for dedicated leadership.
Threads has evolved beyond being merely an extension of Instagram, requiring focused management to sustain its growth trajectory.
User Growth and Competition
Despite launching in 2023, Threads is experiencing rapid user adoption. Data from Similarweb, a market intelligence firm, indicates that its mobile daily active user (DAU) count is quickly closing in on that of X.
Currently, Threads averages approximately 115 million mobile DAUs. X, in comparison, reports around 132 million DAUs.
