CubicExplorer - Easy File Management

Enhance File Management with CubicExplorer
Are you dissatisfied with the functionality or layout of Windows Explorer? Do you wish to avoid the need for installing numerous extensions to achieve your desired features? CubicExplorer offers a comprehensive solution, integrating everything you need into a single, unified package.
Please note: This article showcases CubicExplorer SVN Snapshot (version 0.91.0.1168).
Installation Process
Installing CubicExplorer is a rapid and uncomplicated process, requiring only four simple steps. During the initial setup, you will observe that CubicExplorer is distributed under a Mozilla Public License.
You will be prompted to select the desired installation directory for CubicExplorer.
For easier updates to future stable releases, consider naming the installation folder “CubicExplorer,” omitting the “_dev” suffix.
This represents the standard appearance and layout of CubicExplorer upon its first launch after installation.
Configuring CubicExplorer Settings
If you intend to run multiple instances of CubicExplorer, the first step is to navigate to the “Tools Menu” and select “Options.” Within the Options Window, deselect the “Single Instance Only” option.
At this juncture, you can also specify the type of session that CubicExplorer will initiate with each launch.
The Tabs Section provides controls for tab content and tab switching behaviors.
Within the Display Section, you can choose from various themes (also accessible via the “View Menu”) and adjust settings for the Bookmarks Panel, Folders Panel, and Fileview Options.
For more granular control, the Advanced Section allows you to fine-tune individual settings in areas such as the AddressBar, BookmarksPanel, FileSearch, FileView, FilterPanel, FolderPanel, MainForm, QuickView, Sessions, StackPanel, Tabs, and TextEditor. Adjustments are easily made using dropdown menus or by directly modifying field values.
Personalizing CubicExplorer’s Interface
The “View Menu” enables you to effortlessly select the toolbars and panels you wish to utilize or display with a single click. Adapting CubicExplorer to your specific needs is remarkably simple.
The demonstrated “drag and drop” functionality facilitates easy toolbar customization. The address bar can also be repositioned to align with your preferences.
You can further customize the toolbar interface by adding individual buttons. Access the “Tools Menu” and select “Customizer…”. Click and hold the desired button, then drag it to your preferred position on the toolbar.
This example illustrates how CubicExplorer can appear after some customization, with multiple tabs open. It’s a visually appealing and efficient setup!
Enjoy using your newly customized and user-friendly file manager!
Please be aware: When viewing folder contents, the first item is automatically selected by default. This can present challenges when moving or deleting items, so exercise caution. In our test installation, this auto-select feature could not be disabled within the Advanced Section of the Options Window (this appears to be a current bug).
