Lucid Motors to Restart Gravity SUV Deliveries
Lucid Motors is scheduled to recommence customer deliveries of its all-electric Gravity SUV by the close of April. This represents a significant step forward for Lucid, as the company’s future prosperity is closely tied to its ability to provide vehicles that align with the preferences of American consumers.
Introducing the Gravity SUV
The Gravity marks Lucid’s second vehicle offering and its inaugural SUV, following the Lucid Air sedan line. Customer orders for the seven-passenger SUV were initiated in November 2024, with initial deliveries to employees, associates, and their families commencing in December.
According to Marc Winterhoff, Lucid’s interim CEO, the company was nearing completion of assembling the vehicles intended for showroom display and test drive purposes. He stated during a brand event held in New York City on Thursday that customer deliveries would be resumed by the end of April.
Production Ramp-Up and Tariffs
Lucid personnel present at the TechCrunch-covered event – which included an unexpected performance by Cautious Clay – verified that the company is actively increasing Gravity production at its manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, Arizona. This U.S.-based production is expected to be advantageous for the EV company, particularly in light of the recently imposed 25% auto tariffs announced by President Donald Trump.
Performance and Range
Priced at $94,900, the Gravity boasts an EPA-estimated range of 450 miles. The vehicle also delivers sports car-level performance, a characteristic attributed to Lucid’s cutting-edge battery technology. This technology enables a more compact and lightweight battery with enhanced power density.
“The Lucid Gravity eliminates the need for trade-offs; customers can experience the benefits of both worlds,” Winterhoff explained.
