Established in 2016, Linktree achieved unicorn status in 2022. By 2024, the platform had exceeded 50 million users globally.

India represents a significant market for Linktree, ranking as its fifth-largest source of traffic. Data from Similarweb indicates that approximately 3.5% of Linktree's global visits originated from India, totaling around 7.3 million visits in July.

Currently, the United States remains Linktree's largest market, generating 48.5 million visits. This is followed by Indonesia (32.3 million), Brazil (30.8 million), and the United Kingdom (9.4 million), as per Similarweb data.

Attempts to obtain a response from India’s IT and telecom ministries via email over the weekend have been unsuccessful.
