Klaxoon Launches Hybrid Work Conference Room Solution

Klaxoon Enhances Collaboration Tools with New Software and Hardware

French tech company Klaxoon has announced significant updates to its collaborative whiteboard platform, alongside the introduction of a novel hardware solution. The company’s new offering, termed Hybridity, centers around providing fully equipped conference spaces designed to optimize meetings involving both in-office and remote participants.

Software Updates: Board Hybrid

The evolution begins with a software upgrade. Last year saw the launch of Board, a visual interface facilitating real-time collaboration during video conferences. This platform allows users to brainstorm and cooperate through a digital whiteboard environment.

Users can generate sticky notes, incorporate text, insert images, and reposition elements, all while initiating video calls directly from within the interface.

Participants are visually represented by small video thumbnails, promoting focus on the shared digital whiteboard. Integration with existing video-conferencing applications is also supported.

This week’s update rebrands Board as Board Hybrid. According to founder and CEO Matthieu Beucher, this new version is specifically engineered to address the demands of hybrid work environments.

Board Hybrid now allows the direct addition of various file types to the whiteboard. This eliminates the need for uploading to separate storage and sharing links, streamlining the workflow.

Users can preview presentations, documents, and spreadsheets directly within the Klaxoon interface. New drawing tools, including enhanced connectors, have also been implemented, enabling the creation of mind maps and other visual aids.

Screen sharing functionality is now available through Klaxoon’s integrated video-conferencing solution.

The company’s new hardware product, Hybridity, represents a departure from traditional conference room designs. It’s conceived as a self-contained meeting room resembling a hexagonal space capsule.

The room’s exterior is intentionally minimalist, lacking windows and presenting a “black box” aesthetic.

Inside, Hybridity accommodates three participants, each equipped with a dedicated screen, camera, and Klaxoon Box device. Beucher emphasizes that this configuration ensures clear visibility and immersive content engagement for all attendees.

Remote participants often encounter challenges in hybrid meetings, such as difficulty identifying speakers and a sense of disconnect from the in-room team.

Klaxoon aims to mitigate these issues with Hybridity, fostering a more equitable and engaging meeting experience for both on-site and remote individuals.

A Klaxoon Hybridity conference room requires a footprint of just 5 square meters. Its modular design allows for easy relocation, as it is not permanently fixed to the floor.

Pre-orders for Hybridity are scheduled to begin this week. The company plans to offer the solution through a subscription model, with pricing starting at €2,000 per month. The success of this venture remains to be seen, but it presents a potential alternative to conventional office phone booths.
