Introducing June: Simplifying Product Analytics

June is a recently launched startup focused on democratizing access to analytics dashboards and report generation. The platform is designed to be user-friendly, even for those without specialized expertise in product analytics.

Built directly on top of existing Segment data, June offers a streamlined approach to data analysis.

Leveraging Segment and a No-Code Approach

Like many modern no-code solutions, June utilizes pre-built templates and an intuitive graphical interface. This empowers users with limited technical skills to quickly and effectively begin analyzing their data.

According to co-founder and CEO Enzo Avigo, “We provide instant analytics, and that’s the core reason for building on top of Segment.” He further explained that this integration allows for significantly faster data access.

Data Sources and Future Vision

Currently, June functions by utilizing Segment as the central hub for data collection and storage. Users can then seamlessly integrate and explore their data within the June platform.

However, the company has plans to expand its capabilities by incorporating additional data sources in the future.

Avigo articulated the long-term ambition for June: “Our vision is to evolve into the Airtable of analytics.”

Familiar Interface and Template Library

Those acquainted with Airtable will find June’s interface readily recognizable. The company has developed a comprehensive template library to facilitate quick setup and analysis.

June’s templates are designed to assist in tracking key metrics such as user retention, active user counts, acquisition funnels, engagement levels, and feature utilization.

Selecting a template initiates the report-building process, where data sources are matched to the chosen template.

June then automatically generates relevant charts, segments users into cohorts, and displays crucial metrics.

Users can also establish goals and receive real-time alerts via Slack when significant events occur, either positive or negative.

Advanced Features for Power Users

June isn’t solely for beginners; advanced users can also benefit from the platform.

It allows teams to standardize their analytics processes by creating custom SQL queries and building templates based on these queries.

Funding and Team Background

The company successfully secured a seed funding round of $1.85 million, led by Point Nine.

Additional investors included Y Combinator, Speedinvest, Kima Ventures, eFounders, and Base Case, alongside contributions from various business angels.

Prior to founding June, the two co-founders gained experience at Intercom, where they observed that existing analytics tools were often too complex for widespread adoption.

This led them to recognize a need for a more accessible and intuitive analytics solution.

Growth and Future Pricing

Currently, June boasts hundreds of weekly active users, with a growth rate of 10% each week.

While the product is presently offered free of charge, the company intends to implement a usage-based pricing model in the future.
