investors lockheed martin ventures and spacefund are coming to tc sessions: space 2020

The aerospace sector, historically characterized by government initiatives and a limited number of large companies, has experienced a significant increase in new businesses in recent years. Consequently, venture capital firms have become increasingly involved in identifying and supporting the most innovative of these emerging companies.
Venture capital is now critically important in discovering the most viable and promising startups. The corporate venture capital divisions of established companies face particularly high expectations, consistently seeking technologies that will ensure their continued success over the long term.
We are pleased to announce that Chris Moran, executive director and general manager at Lockheed Martin Ventures, and Meagan Crawford, managing partner at SpaceFund, will be participating in our TC Sessions: Space event on December 16 & 17.
Moran is responsible for directing Lockheed Martin Ventures’ investments in smaller technology companies that align with the corporation’s overall strategic goals. Before his role at Lockheed Martin, Moran held several positions at Applied Materials Inc., including leadership of the business systems and analytics division.
Crawford serves as managing partner at SpaceFund and brings extensive experience as a space startup executive and entrepreneur. Through her role as host of the Mission Eve podcast, she works to promote greater female participation in the space industry and is a recognized expert on the sector’s growth and investment prospects. Crawford also leads the board of the Center for Space Commerce and Finance, a nonprofit organization.
She possesses over ten years of experience in mentoring entrepreneurs and investors through the NewSpace Business Plan Competition, which she launched in 2009. Throughout the past decade, she has reviewed over 1,000 space business proposals, provided guidance to numerous participating teams, and facilitated the distribution of funding to many NewSpace startups.
Crawford and Moran are prepared to share their perspectives and predictions regarding the future of space exploration with the TechCrunch audience. We will explore the key areas of focus for their respective organizations, the impacts of COVID-19, and whether a shift in government administration will influence their investment approaches.
A special offer is available starting today: purchase one Late Registration ticket for $175 and receive a second ticket free. This means you and a colleague can attend for just $87.50 each – a price lower than the early-bird rate. This promotion is valid until Sunday, November 29, at 11:59 p.m. PST.
