Intangible Raises $4M for No-Code 3D Creation

Intangible Secures $4 Million Seed Funding for AI-Powered 3D Creation
Intangible, a company developing an innovative creative tool, has successfully raised $4 million in seed funding. This AI-driven platform empowers users to generate 3D world concepts simply by utilizing text prompts.
The core objective of Intangible is to democratize the creative process. It aims to provide accessibility to both professional creatives – including filmmakers, game developers, event organizers, and marketing professionals – and individuals seeking to visualize their ideas.
Launch Plans and Key Personnel
The company anticipates launching its no-code, web-based 3D studio in June. This launch will mark a significant step in making 3D creation more approachable.
Charles Migos, formerly a lead designer at Apple for applications like iBooks, Notes, and News, and later the VP of Product Design at Unity, leads Intangible. He is joined by co-founder Bharat Vasan, an entrepreneur and the previous co-founder of Basis, a wearables company acquired by Intel.
Migos’ vision for the tool originated from his experiences at Unity. He recognized a gap in the market for a 3D creation platform accessible to a wider range of creative professionals.
“While Unity Editor is a powerful resource, it isn’t typically utilized by those directly responsible for creative direction,” Migos explained to TechCrunch. “The emergence of AI presents an opportunity to broaden access to 3D creation, specifically designed for professional workflows.”
Simplified 3D Creation with AI
Intangible’s platform is engineered to streamline the 3D creation process, eliminating the need for extensive coding knowledge. Users can construct detailed 3D environments, such as entire cities or landscapes, through simple text prompts and AI assistance.
The platform features a 3D canvas editor where users can easily incorporate elements from a library of approximately 6,000 assets. This library includes diverse options like people in various poses, trees, roads, and vehicles.
Filmmakers can also benefit from integrated storyboard features, allowing them to adjust camera angles and organize scenes effectively.
Once the initial design is complete, users can transition to “Visualizer mode.” This mode utilizes AI image generation, leveraging technologies like DeepSeek, Llama, and Stable Diffusion, to enhance the visual fidelity of the scene.
Collaboration and Accessibility
Intangible also facilitates team collaboration. Users can share project links, enabling real-time co-creation, feedback gathering, and iterative adjustments.
Currently in closed beta, Intangible is accepting applications for early access. The company reports significant interest from numerous creative professionals, including prominent film and gaming studios, with specific names to be revealed at a later date.
Pricing and Future Development
The official launch in June will introduce both a free tier and paid subscription plans, ranging from $15 to $50 per month. Users can also purchase additional credits for image and video rendering.
The recent funding round was led by a16z Speedrun, Crosslink Capital, and a group of angel investors.
These funds will be allocated to both product development and team expansion. Intangible currently employs 10 individuals, including Philip Metschan, the lead product designer with prior experience at Pixar and ILM. The company intends to double its workforce within the current year.
