Share Ring Doorbell Access: A Guide for Households

Sharing Ring Doorbell Access with Household Members
To ensure everyone in your home stays informed, you can easily share access to your Ring Doorbell. This prevents anyone from missing important visitor notifications.
Without the optional Chime device or a wired connection to your existing doorbell system, notifications are delivered solely through your smartphone. Sharing access extends this awareness to other residents.
Initiating Access Sharing
Begin by launching the Ring application on your smartphone. Locate and tap on your Ring Doorbell device within the app's interface – it’s typically found in the top-left corner of the screen.
From the device settings, select the "Shared Users" option.
Tap on the "Add User" button to proceed.
Inviting New Users
Enter the email address of the individual you wish to grant access to. Confirm your entry by pressing "OK".
The email address will then appear in the list, initially marked as "pending invite". This indicates that an invitation has been dispatched, awaiting a response.
User Account Creation and Login
The invitee will receive an email containing a link to accept the invitation. They should click on this link to begin the process.
They will be guided to create a Ring account, requiring them to enter their email address and establish a password. Clicking "Next" will continue the setup.
Following account creation, they can close their browser window and download the Ring app to their smartphone. Upon opening the app, tap "Log In".
They should then enter the email address and password they just created and tap "OK".
Access Granted
Once logged in, the user will have access to the Ring Doorbell, receiving notifications and viewing event history. However, they will not have the ability to modify the device’s settings.
