Send Amazon Echo Shopping List to Email - Easy Guide

Sending Your Amazon Echo Shopping List to Email
If you regularly utilize your Amazon Echo to compile a grocery list, this guide details how to dispatch that list to your email account when you are prepared for shopping.
Utilizing the Alexa App and IFTTT
The Alexa app maintains a record of your shopping list. Accessing the app and navigating to "Shopping & To-Do Lists" within the side menu will display all added items. However, should you prefer a text-based format outside of the Alexa app – which isn’t always ideal – a service like IFTTT can be employed to deliver the list directly to your email, or even platforms such as Evernote.
If you are new to IFTTT, a comprehensive guide is available to assist you in creating an account and connecting your desired applications. Return to this article once you’ve completed those initial steps to configure the necessary recipe.
For ease of use, a pre-configured recipe is provided. If you possess familiarity with IFTTT, simply click the “Add” button below to implement it. You may be prompted to connect the Alexa and Email channels if they haven't been previously linked.
Creating a Custom IFTTT Recipe
Should you desire to personalize the recipe – particularly if you intend to utilize a service other than email – the following instructions outline the creation process. Begin by visiting the IFTTT homepage and selecting “My Recipes” from the top navigation bar.
Proceed by clicking “Create a Recipe”.
Select “this” – the blue highlighted text.
In the search bar, type “Alexa” or browse the available services. The Alexa service should appear prominently. Click on it when located.
From the available triggers, choose "Ask what's on your Shopping List".
Confirm your trigger selection by clicking "Create Trigger".
Next, click on “that” – again, the blue highlighted text – to define the action triggered by the Alexa shopping list request.
Type “Email” into the search box or locate it within the service grid. Select it when found.
Connecting the Email channel requires entering your email address and the PIN sent to you by IFTTT.
After successfully connecting the channel, click "Send me an email".
You can then customize the email subject and body. Ensure that "{{EntireList}}" remains within the email body, as this code displays your grocery list. Finalize your settings by clicking "Create Action".
Assign a descriptive name to your recipe and click "Create Recipe".
Your recipe is now active. Whenever you inquire about your shopping list via Alexa, it will be promptly delivered to your email inbox. Furthermore, IFTTT supports integration with numerous other services, including Evernote, Day One, and iOS Reminders.
