Send & Receive Hotmail in Gmail - Easy Guide

Accessing Hotmail Within Gmail
Do you wish to manage your Hotmail inbox directly from your Gmail interface? This guide details the process of both sending and receiving emails using your @hotmail.com, @msn.com, or @live.com address, all within the Gmail environment.
Alternatively, if you prefer a desktop email application, you can configure Hotmail within a client like Thunderbird.
Configuring Hotmail Access in Gmail
Begin by navigating to your Gmail settings. Select "Settings" and then click on the "Accounts" tab. From there, choose "Add a mail account you own".
On the subsequent screen, input your Hotmail or Live email address into the designated "Address" field and proceed by clicking "Next Step".

The next step involves entering the correct server settings to establish a functional connection. Provide your username and password for your Windows Live account. Ensure the following settings are accurately configured:
POP Server: pop3.live.com
Port: 995
Check Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail
You have the option to leave a copy of your emails on the Hotmail server and archive incoming messages. These choices are based on your personal preferences and won't impact the connection itself. Click "Add Account" when you've verified all details.

Important Note: To retain your messages within your Hotmail account, be certain to select the option "Leave a copy of retrieved messages on the server".
Proceed by checking "Yes, I want to be able to send mail as..." This enables you to send emails using your Hotmail or Live account identity, then click "Next Step".

You can now confirm or modify the name that appears on your outgoing emails. Alternatively, you can specify a different "Reply-to" address for incoming responses.

Finally, Gmail will dispatch a verification code to your Hotmail or Live account.

Upon receiving the verification code, enter it into the provided field and click the "Verify" button to complete the setup!

To compose an email utilizing your Hotmail account, simply use the "From" drop-down menu when creating a new message.

You are now equipped to both Send and Receive your Hotmail emails within your Gmail Account!
