Change Wallpaper on Android: A Simple Guide

Changing Your Android Wallpaper
Your Android device initially features a default image as its Home screen wallpaper. However, personalization is key, and altering this image is a straightforward process.
A variety of images are pre-installed within the Android system. Alternatively, you have the flexibility to utilize images stored on your device.
Accessing Wallpaper Options via Home Screen
To begin, perform a touch and hold action on any unoccupied area of your Home screen.

A menu will then appear. Should a portion of this menu be obscured, simply click and drag it upwards to reveal the complete selection.

If you prefer to use one of the system-provided images, select “Wallpapers” from the displayed menu. For this guide, we will demonstrate using a custom image, so we will choose “ES File Explorer” (a freely available file manager from the Google Play Store) to locate the desired file.
Note: Any file manager application installed on your device will appear in this list, allowing you to select your preferred method for accessing image files. You can also choose images from your “Photos” library.

Selecting Your Image
Navigate through your file system to the location of your chosen image and tap on its filename.

The image will be displayed with a bounding box overlay. Adjust the position of this box to frame the portion of the image you wish to use as your wallpaper. Then, click “Save”.

Changing Wallpaper Through Settings
Alternatively, you can modify the wallpaper via the device settings. Begin by swiping down from the status bar located at the top of the screen.

Pulling down the notification bar again will reveal the “Quick Settings” menu.

Tap the gear-shaped icon at the top of the “Quick Settings” menu to access the settings panel.

Navigating to Wallpaper Settings
Within the “Device” section, select “Display”.

On the “Display” screen, tap “Wallpaper”.

Similar to changing the wallpaper from the Home screen, you will be presented with options for selecting your wallpaper image. Choose an option from the “Choose wallpaper from” screen. We will again use “ES File Explorer” for this example.

Navigate to the folder containing your desired image and tap on the filename.

Crop the image as previously described and click “Save”. The cropped image will then be set as the wallpaper for your Home screen.
