PageZipper: Quickly Navigate Long Articles

Simplify Reading Multi-Page Articles with PageZipper

If you frequently encounter websites that divide articles into numerous pages, or present images within slideshows spread across multiple pages, a solution exists to enhance your reading experience and improve efficiency.

These multi-page formats and slideshows can often prove frustrating. While some sites provide a "View All" feature, or a "Print" option that consolidates the content, others lack such conveniences.

Introducing PageZipper

PageZipper is a convenient bookmarklet designed to streamline navigation through multi-page articles and image galleries. It adds a toolbar to your browser, enabling quick access to different pages or specific images.

For Safari users, the built-in Reading View offers a similar functionality, negating the need for additional tools.

Installation and Usage

To install PageZipper, simply visit the official website and drag the “PageZipper” link directly to your bookmarks bar in either Chrome or Firefox.

Once on a multi-page article or gallery, activate the PageZipper bookmarklet by clicking it from your bookmarks bar.

Instead of repeatedly scrolling to locate and click the "Next" button…

…utilize the right arrow on the PageZipper toolbar, which appears at the top-right of the webpage, for swift page-to-page movement.

Should you encounter any issues, the “Compatibility Mode” button on the toolbar may resolve them.

Automatic Page Merging

A particularly useful feature is the automatic merging of pages. Simply continue scrolling, and PageZipper will consolidate all subsequent pages into a single, continuous view.

Keep in mind that if you navigate away from the page, you'll need to re-activate the PageZipper bookmarklet upon returning.

Limitations

PageZipper does have a few limitations:

  • It is not compatible with websites that employ Javascript to load subsequent pages, instead of standard links.
  • Some webpages utilize ambiguous "Next" link text, which PageZipper may not recognize.

If you encounter a non-functional webpage, the developers of PageZipper, PrintWhatYouLike, encourage you to submit the URL to their community support forum for potential improvements.

PageZipper is also available as a dedicated add-on for Firefox and an extension for Chrome.
