Stop OS X Beta Updates: Remove from App Store

Managing macOS Beta Program Participation
Users who previously enrolled in the macOS beta program to evaluate pre-release versions of the operating system may wish to discontinue automatic beta updates. This guide details the process for opting out of the program.
Removing Your Device from the Beta Program
The process for leaving the macOS beta program is straightforward. It allows you to revert to receiving only stable, publicly released versions of macOS.
Here's how to remove your Mac from the beta testing cycle:
- Navigate to the Apple Beta Software Program website.
- Sign in using the Apple ID you used to enroll.
- Select your enrolled devices.
- Choose the option to remove your Mac from the program.
Confirming Removal and Future Updates
After removing your device, it will no longer receive beta updates. Future software updates offered through System Settings will be standard releases.
It’s important to note that removing your device doesn't uninstall the current beta software. You may need to perform a clean installation of the latest public macOS release if you desire to completely revert.
For those who are no longer interested in testing pre-release software, this method provides a simple way to return to a standard macOS update experience.
Exiting the Beta Software Program
Access System Preferences on your Mac and select the App Store application.
Locate the section indicating your computer is configured to receive pre-release Software Update seeds. Click the "Change" button within this section.
Subsequently, choose the option labeled "Do Not Show Pre-release Updates". This will remove you from the beta program.
With these steps completed, any currently queued beta updates will no longer be displayed in the App Store’s updates area.
The process is straightforward and effectively halts the delivery of beta software versions. You will then only receive stable release updates.
